Daily Prompt: My Precious

Today’s challenge is rather a difficult one to answer, because WordPress asks, Who is the person in your life who can do no wrong? Describe this person and tell us why you hold them in such high esteem.

Why I find it hard to answer is because I don’t hole any person in such a high regard… that I would overlook their faults and believe they can’t do no wrong.

The closest I can get, however, is the love for my son… no matter what he does.. no matter how much I disapprove, I can’t stop loving him… Yes if he has done wrong, which is very rare, I will tell him straight… but even though at times my patience is being tested.. my love for him never fails or falters..

Yes I can call him all the names under the sun.. rant and rave at him… but when someone else does it.. my god I am there to back him up.. It is so hard being a mother.. at times.. when you know you can’t say anything.. but you so want to…

When someone treats your child like dirt or is abusive and offensive to them.. that mother’s bond is so strong that you, yourself also suffers.. it cuts you with a knife and that maternal desire to protect is so overwhelming that at times it is hard to reign in.

A mother’s love is unconditional and holds no bounds.
